It is known as "bee bread" because it is flower pollen collected by bees, mixed with honey and left to undergo lactic fermentation inside the comb. Fermentation makes it easier to absorb than bee pollen alone.

It contains 15–23% protein, including all essential amino acids, B-group vitamins, vitamins A, C, and E, trace elements (iron, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc), unsaturated fatty acids, and polyphenols.

Finely ground bee bread is easier to use, as it dissolves in liquids and can be used as a tasty topping. One teaspoon a day is enough: on an empty stomach, stirred into porridge or yoghurt, or mixed with honey.

Do not heat it or pour boiling water over it, as temperatures above 40°C destroy its enzymes. Store in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place away from light.
